Does anyone like it? I think the action is really good, the art is really good, story is relatively simple, and the artist's use of speedlines to convey action is on the level of Toriyama. Shame it is not more popular.

I like it a lot. It's been licensed and translated for the western market even as early as the mid 90's but unfortunately it didn't find mainstream success.
Quite a number of series suffered the same fate. Kotaro Makaritoru comes to mind.

I like it a lot. Probably still, but I hate that post Sui Fan or something or other -- Chinmi's friend (rival?) that is really good with staff -- brainwash arc, the art took a dive. The art itself is no problem, but the size of the panels got way too big while showing no more than when they're small. Made reading it too quick to enjoy because it tells less story, so to speak.

He's due for a story arc of his own.

If had a 4chan x i would storytime it, but without it the constant captchas would make quit halfway.

I had a worse time with the start of the series, which felt rough to me both in terms of story and art. It really picked for me when chinmi met yan in chapter 14 or so and then kept being great throughout, although maybe it's better to read by volume instead of by chapter.

I like it a lot, but I understand why it's not really popular. Fanbases usually coalesce over characters, and the characterization in Chinmi is pretty straightforward without any of the crazy drama that strings along an audience.

Yeah, the original series is amazing because we followed Chinmi's journey from being a stronger than average brat to a full on kung fu master.
The second series was okay, but the second part was pretty bad since the main characters are way too powerful compared to the antagonists so they just nerfed them by making them too fatigued by the time the final battle started, which is just not very exciting to read.
The third series is mostly just a retread on previous story arcs with rescuing a girl from a foreign land, dealing with an assassination attempt etc, but the drop in art quality is pretty visible, though I guess it's understandable from seeing how long the series has been running, the author simply got too old to be able to draw at the same quality like when he was younger.
Is the series still on hiaitus? IIRC it has been on hiatus since covid.

The author recently returned from hiatus for the october 2025 edition of monthly shonen magazine, (released september 6th), but scanlations are based on the released volumes so it's probably gonna take a while to resume.

I liked this fight, I like how the author try to deal with Chinmi being basically a kung-fu god after defeating Boru by having Chinmi fight on disadvantageous position and relying more on secondary characters instead of power creeping Chinmi opponents after having show Boru as an absolute monster.

The whole point of the second part was for the trio to have a fun adventure, and they didn't dissapoint.
