I can see a future in anime where 3D animations are incorporated, but as long as we are still DEEPLY in the uncanney valley as in Wandance, the time for this has not yet come.

We don't have the technology to make 3D CGI look like 2D anime (in motion at least) without a lot of camera, shader, and lighting tricks that would take just as much time.
