Why nobody talks about it?
>>284114555It ended 22 years ago anon, sorry you're too dumb to realize this.. or if you mean remake, that was 8 years ago too already.
>>284114555People bring it up all the time. Lurk moar
>>284114555it's kino
>>284114555what aspect of Kino's story would you like to talk about? if you want to see generic discussion about it, i'm sure you ought to be able to find decades of discussion and debate on it.
>>284114555Cool motorcycle.
Is the remake any good? I have seen that it got historys which weren't in the original.
>>284115578*has stories
>>284115578it's not a patch on the original but its pretty watchable if you're a fan in my opinion. Has some hokey CGI moments but some of the new stories they pulled from the LNs are fun. Do you have any strong feelings about sheep?
>>284115578There are a lot of reasons it can't even compare to the original but you might still enjoy it if you're starved for more Kino like I was.
>>284115578It's a passable adaptation of the novel stories, but pales in comparisson to the excellent original one.
I'm going to take this opportunity to once again say that the goat scene in Train to the end of the World was an homage to the best episode of the 2017 remake.
>>284115578If you want to enjoy those stories just read the novels, the anime is pretty okish
>>284114639>It ended 22 years ago anon>or if you mean remake, that was 8 years ago>mfw I realized this wasn't a joke
I think the remake's greatest fault was redesigning Kino from a cute potato to a generic hot anime girl.
>>284114555>anhydrous girl travels on her bike and meets and talks to peopleI could never get into it
I thought it (2017) was enjoyable and provides more depth with the other characters compared to the original one. For people who've read the novels, is there a sense of worldbuilding or is it just stories loosely spread out? Like, does The Master ever leave out and try to hunt her down?
>>284114555You missed all of the threads, ESL-kun.
I see Kino threads all the time. I also keep seeing these "why do people not talk about x" threads when I see a thread about the topic the day before or sometimes even that day. It doesn't seem like many people on /a/ have read the books so there's only ~24 episodes worth of stuff to talk about, with the most recent anime content being 8 years ago. >>284116421The potato Kino was the redesign. Kino never looked like that even when the LNs began. And 2017 Kino is more faithful to what she looks like in most of the LNs. >>284116488It's entirely episodic up to at least volume 16, which is where I left off.
>>284116476Try Watanare instead
>>284114555Literally nothing to talk aboutit's mostly just comfyfags
>>284116553No Kino fan on the planet will ever say that the tall, slender girl from the remake is who they envision when they think of Kino. The 2003 show is iconic for a reason. Her childlike design perfectly embodies the traveller experiencing the joy and sorrow of seeing a new world for the first time. Yeah she's a "mature" and careful traveller but the wonder of the unknown works best with her younger design.
>>284116928She looks like a Cartoon Network reject with downs
>>284116969You can't seriously be saying that you prefer the remake's design over the original.
>>284116928This post has nothing to do with the fact that the 2003 Kino does not look like any incarnation of LN Kino and the 2017 Kino looks more like what Kino has looked like for a long time. Even if you like the 2003 version of the anime it is not faithful to the LNs in either visual design or content. And you're trying to argue that it is. Your judgement of quality is separate from what is actually representative of the source.
>>284116102The GOAT chapter still isn't translated I think
>>284115578It's not as good as the original but I liked the special ending credits in one episode with the letter from the author
SO THE BEAUTIFUL WORLD
Reminder that Hermes is the same model of bike that Lawrence of Arabia had his fatal accident on
>>284114555its a masterpiece
>>284114555What's this about? I like the color scheme
>>284119584In a world different from ours, this character, Kino, and their talking bike, Hermes, travel the world, never staying too long in any place, just enough to explore and understand, for example, how a country where murder is legal can function, and how the people in each country live.
>>284114555The remake was just that bad. Happens 99% of time, this is why I want more remakes.
>>284118999Lawrence of Arabia had a talking bike????
>>284114555?You fags say KINOKINOKINO all day everyday.
>>284120155I was born ready T. E. Lawrence!
>>284116928The tall, slender girl from the remake is who I envision when I think of Kino. I think my favorite design is pic related.
>>284120257We often say something is (as good as) Kino, but it's never elaborated upon.
>>284120155How do you think he did all that stuff in Arabia?
>>284114555Dumb ESL
>>284114555No one remembers. If you were to do a rewatch stream or mention a particular episode I'm sure you could generate some discussion. Also, kino gets.
take the goddamn jello
>>284116928You talk like a fag.
>>284116090based if true
>>284124336these movies sucked so much ass
>>284124706why? they were pretty much just extended (kinda) episodes
>>284124706I watch them more often than the original show.
>>284124944I remember the movies being extremely boring and slow, which is strange because I liked the rest of the show
>>284114555Because I'm gatekeeping it
Which episode(s) did you like the most? For me it was probably:The one with rabbitsTragic poet oneAnd the one with two nations that found peace :)
>>284114555It's one of my all time favorites.
>>284114555There hasn't been a new volume in half a decade, anon.
>>284116928Personally, I'd say it's LN Kino > manga Kino (both of them) > 2017 anime Kino > 2003 Kino > OVAs Kino in terms of design. The 2003 anime's great and all, but at the same time, that childlike nature's only one aspect to Kino. Her having an appearance that's not quite a child's and not quite an adult's while also maintaining almost pure androgyny but being beautiful enough that it's understandable why both men and women want her, it gives her a uniquely fairy tale-like quality that it makes sense why you'd see her in bloody fables where everyone dies and in stories where she's chasing children down to sell them into slavery. A character who's so smack dab in the middle of the moral grey that it shows in her design, I think that's what makes the LN anime have the best design.Like, I really can't see 2003 Kino killing someone on accident and then brushing it off as an accident or 2003 Kino intentionally hunting a foal instead of a mother deer simply because none of the meat would go to waste. Kino's someone who's willing to choose a side that best benefits her, but will otherwise maintain some impartiality so long as she's able to leave the country at the end of the day. Also I love flat chests and little firm butts.
>>284115578It's an 8/10 show compared to the 10/10 original.
>>284115578They're low budget but faithful adaptions of LN chapters. I wouldn't say they're bad but considering the 2003 anime does its own thing with the series tone and pacing, it's more jarring since some chapters in the LN are outright comedic. Land of Heroes adaption never ever.
