Umaru is my favorite SoL show,and one of my favorite anime series overall. I never got the hate for it. It has a likeable characters, clever gags, and a real heart.

I feel her sense of popularity stems from younger teens finding her so cool and relatable, but anyone older than that demographic thought differently (aka they didnt like because cringe). Even YouTubers I was a fan of fell under the same grace, Demo being one example, by making a full dedicated video on why the said series sucked. Do I agree with the hate mentality? ehh.. It's definitely cringe but I could see why it was popular with teenagers back then.
