If I want to see men kick shit while women are completely useless, I'll just watch Kamen Rider.And while I like how the villain faction works on fairy slave labor, now we have nothing to look forward to other than Chokkirine's obligatory redemption and the final showdown with the big bad. Follow up on various VotW introduced in the first cour (Sumo guy, Hamori and the various cafe regulars, Sunda).3. Do the final character episodes for the Cures (Kokoro and Nana's seem done but Purirun and Meroron's haven't been done yet)4. Resolve the triangle relationship between Uta, Kaito, and Kazuma.The first 2 goals are done where as the latter two goals don't seem to be done. Either way, the last batch of episodes maybe trying too much might be why the pacing is kind of wonky.

This is my favorite midseason Cure arc so far. 2013 Precure is a bit less idealistic than contemporary Precure; things are softening up by the end of episode 20, but prior to that the group outside Mana mostly didn't like Regina and were holding her to task for her bad behavior. In contrast I don't think anyone in Idol ever had a bad word to say about Meroron even at her worst. Also Regina is probably the sexiest single character in the franchise. Iroha's mom might have been dethroned. (I've watched 2004-2013 Precure, Kirakira, Wonderful, and Idol)

The Dokis did do the same with Mana when it came to Regina, but they did voice out their complaints more. That's partly because Regina's abrasiveness was more spread out to the other Cures and civilians and directly interfering with their main mission whereas Meroron's abrasiveness was focused mostly on Uta (other than stealing poor Tanaka's house) and she was at least still doing her job as a Cure. I can definitely see why someone would prefer how Doki handled it more though; I agree as well.

Watching Gozyuger at the same time as Idol, it becomes pretty obvious what they did wrong with Kaito. Unlike female idols, whose strength lies in cuteness and innocence, male idols often thrive in more seductive and charismatic roles. Rikuo does that act perfectly, while Kaito doesn't do either. Kaito feels like a "boy next door", he's extremely milquetoast, like the writers were afraid to make him too "adult." And that made him very uninteresting as a person.
