This thread isn't about kuuderes specifically, but can anyone explain the cultural reason that Japanese people think not giving a shit is the coolest thing ever? We see it a lot, like with Sakamoto and Dante other names aren't coming to my head right now and it's something I really don't get.
This might be a massive generalization, but I think in western countries, cool characters tend to be ones that are personable, proactive, excited about the stuff going on, and down to earth.

Doom Guy, John Wick, Blade, Wolverine, Batman... the list of examples go on.

Liberal millennial writers just deconstructed the archetype, and now no males are allowed to be cool and stoic in modern Western media, which is why everyone has moved on to anime, no?
