The hate for Asuna is essentially what happens when someone who hated most of SAO likes Alicization. Because when War of Underworld puts Kirito out of commission and Asuna takes over suddenly the quality of everything drops substially until the climax revs up. It made some folks realize the insufferable haremshit was something that followed Asuna, not Kirito.
