It's neat how Ritz considers most of the additions of the anime as canon, to the point where formerly anime-only scenes and concepts would sometimes show up again in the manga

You can still see which parts Ritz doesn't consider as canon when the characters don't act the same way. One such example is Teru. Her first appearance was her saying "Weaklings like these aren't even good for a warm up" after they won the Tokyo qualis. Afterwards she treated every opponent with respect and gave her all for that exact reason. By the time Achiga aired Ritz had a better grasp at the story and characters so from then on everything is more consistent.
