I can't help but notice this has become much more of a generic shounen after the prison shit.I had some concerns the painter would turn out to be evil, but there's no way this tattoo loser is going to be evil.I can't say I dislike it but the tone change seems pretty abrupt, even if you don't take into account how edgy the one shot was.Maybe they're trying to setup that all the normalfags aren't evil so when the girls meet the witch terrorists they realize there are extreme witches out there too.

This is an impressively quick fall from grace.Was the first arc adapted from one-shot attempts reworked over months and years, and the arcs after have been what the author is capable of writing on a schedule? Because the current output is absolutely U19 worthy.
Not every One-Shot should be adapted.They work because World-Building is not the focus. Most mangaka seem to suck at World Building.
