So I was about to read Azumanga Daioh for the first time, and to my surprise there are two different versions.The original and the 10th Anniversary reprint. Nearly all of the manga was redrawn to "better" match the later Supplementary Lessons Chapters.So did Kiyohiko Azuma improve it over the original release, or did he pull a George Lukas special edition?

Around Vol 1 Chapter 10, there's a decline in redrawn panels. (aside from removing the hair highlights) Although the ones that are redrawn still look strange and stand out, particularly their faces.
