I know this is such a basic thing to praise, but it's so refreshing how the CX trio is, y'know, a trio of actual main characters. Even if he's self aware about it right now, his conversation with Palma here makes me think he's gonna double down on being a "savior" because, like she said, he was the one who saved her. I think Tokio will place heavier and heavier burdens onto himself until he eventually snaps under the weight.Azuma's story is about him rejecting the role Queem placed onto him and reinventing himself. He starts the story following the teachings of his "father" and believing that his worth is based on being a hero to those around him. When Azuma has that role stripped from him, he's forced to confront his own emptiness and discover that his value as a person isn't decided by any one thing. In a way, he's deprogramming himself from Queem's influence. After the Tower Raid, he's permanently severed from Queem's path and he now sees through the illusion that is his life.That is to say, Tokio is becoming far more self-destructive whereas Azuma is becoming more self-actualized. Which is ironically the inverse to where they were at the start, I think.
Tokio and Palma are very similar. His monologue in this chapter confirmed they have the same world view and fears, which is why he was so deeply impacted by her when she was thrashing around in Chaos. The only major difference between them is that Palma tries to seize and maintain her happiness by whatever means possible, while he retreats into his own shell to avoid being hurt further.

Mado straight up had to interpret her own drawings, and even Sora wasn't sure what shape the calamity took or what the "beast" looked like. So the exact imagery probably isn't very important. What we basically see is a giant figure clinging to a large ball. The only large ball that probably makes sense here is "the world," and clinging to it could be either someone trying to take control of it, or someone trying to protect it from the all "eyes" since eye symbolism and choujin seem pretty interlinked. Eyes have represented Batista, the calamity, as well as Queem and Zora both having notable eyes in their Choujin forms. Eyes might specifically mean Choujin X, even.Then you have Tokio and Azuma getting very non-abstract visions.
If that's indeed the entire planet, Calamity will be on a level incomparable to anything we've seen thus far including Batista's cope sphere.
