Was it popular enough when it was published? It's a shame that this and many other manga fall into oblivion once they're finished. I really liked the relationship between Ganta and Shiro.

It was a thing that came late into the manga’s life. Using a studio that didn’t respect the source material and didn’t even care to adapt the rest of the arcs. Also animating is a lot of work.

The studio went bankrupt, and the little they adapted was so botched it would need to be redone from scratch if anyone wanted to do the whole thing; it's a shame, I love this manga.
