Why did they skip the last 2 novels out of the original 5 novels GATE 1's adaptation covered? Is there a chance we get an adaptation for those skipped parts or are we stuck with a hole?Otherwise looking forward to this, I liked the first season Leilei a best.
>>284498232It's probably a low chance, but maybe something with the original characters if they adapt those other novels set after the original end.
>>284498232>Leilei a best.based OP
>>284498773It was weird to me that the JSDF never caught onto the massive innovations magic could bring to the world and in war and tried to learn more about it. Also Leilei's mentor should have tried harder to go visit Japan since he should be the most excited about learning new things.
>>284498232I hope the chinks start another "THIS SERIES HURTS THE FEELINGS OF CHINESE NETIZENS" again like they did with the first gate.
>>284498848If I remember dragon scales were being researched for armor on Earth along with other exotic materials.
>>284498931It could have been a important focus. There could be a lot to find and send back to be studied. They should have been trying to get as many people as possible through too to help. A gate that opens suddenly and they don't fully understand could always close at any time too and they would lose the chance.
>>284499038I would take that opportunity as a civilian and run through the gate to disappear and live in a medieval fantasy society for the rest of my life and escape this gay earth.
>>284499149Unfortunately for you and me they built a military base at the end of the most accessible Gate, and even if you managed to join the JSDF there is no guarantee you'd be stationed on the other side, or even among those transporting supplies back and forth. They'd be extremely wary of new recruits after news of the Gate spread. The most you could hope for is to be captured as a slave during the initial raid and escape before the JSDF is even aware of your existence. If you aren't a normie (moralfag) and bothered to learn Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering you'd be guaranteed a high position in any country beyond the Gate. Though the biggest questions is if you could learn magic or not. I'd assume no, since the military would be the first to test whether the JSDF soldiers they sent over could learn magic.
https://gate2.oshi.co/r1a/I didn't know you could directly contribute to anime funding now.
>>284498848>It was weird to me that the JSDF never caught onto the massive innovations magic could bring to the world and in war and tried to learn more about itThis series is just massive Japan wank, of course anything that's not Japanese isn't gonna get appreciated.
>>284499707>directly contributeYou've always been able to.Just not everyone has $10,000+ to give to actually make a difference.Only since the advent of crowdfunding can the average weeb donation of $10 can build up into something usable.I really do need to go down the rabbit hole to see exactly how much money I'd need to completely fund a single 24 ep season.
2026 or 2027?
GATE had a really cool premise and a lot of potential. And then it turned out the fantasy world dipshits were a total bunch of losers and the SDF basically steamrolled them unopposed and it was anticlimactic and boring.
>>284500277What do you expect when a medieval society is introduced to modern 21st century civilization? Besides dragons and potentially some good magic, they had no chance at all. It went exactly how you would expect a country that fights on horseback and with bows and swords to go against a country with supersonic jets, radar, and machine guns. But go ahead explain how the tanks and bombs would have been defeated people whose long distance communication is carrier pigion.
>>284500277>>284500380cont.The excitement of GATE wasn't a about wondering IF the JSDF would completely rout the medieval hick kingdom, but getting to see HOW the JSDF would play out doing it and see the interactions between two civilizations greatly separated in level of advancement.
>>284500380>Besides dragons and potentially some good magicthis is what I expected. mass mindcontrol or necromancy to create unkillable troops or priests of a actual, literal god calling down divine wrath. I expected a smart person or two on the fantasy side to use the smallest bit of subterfuge
>>284500380Magic and modern tech should have distinct advantages and disadvantages towards eachother. A wizard is a powerful force but still vulnerable to snipers and the like if not carefully managed. A hoard of skeletons is difficult to defeat with small arms but could be trivialized with helicopter-launched minefields. A medusa or basilisk turning people into stone could be beaten by not looking directly at it via NVGs or other cameras.I don't know, get creative. Mowing down peasants isn't interesting.
>>284501596>>284500688Fair enough, but not every setting has high magic.
>>284500688>>284500688>necromancy to create unkillable troopsThat would have been so cool.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AYyNolXvLb4
>>284500688>r priests of a actual, literal god calling down divine wrath.anti-tech Rori and the dragonite priestess are divine wrath given form.SPOILERS: in a flashback in S2 novel, Rori destroyed an oil refinery while the GATE was closed down at the end of S1 novel.
>>284498902it was mostly USA and russian buttherts for the hotsprings arc.
Would you enjoy getting pegged by futa Rory?
rory better show up or I will FUCKING SCREAM (thats a threat)
>>284502532Even if Rory didn't care personally, she can't go against what she's told to do.
>>284498931>>284499038yeah it wasn't on focus but they were gathering materials for research samples as seen when Itami came back from the capitalalso sex with the coat medic girl
How soulless is this sequel series compared to the original? Should I even bother?
