I haven't been keeping up with the Manga, but from what I've been hearing, the Manga nowadays is more inline with the webcomic in the latest chapters. If this is the case, I wonder if there's a correlation between JC staff adapting the pre-redraw chapters that is more inline with what ONE originally wrote. The thing about the Manga is that once Murata got permission to license it from ONE it became his to command. Whether or not he followed what ONE said was up to him, the only thing he needed was just the license. For a while of course ONE was helping out, as late as the tournament arc which I believe was partially written by ONE. But from an ownership perspective, I think Murata owns the manga which means if anyone is going to have a say in the anime, it's him.But, then it just becomes the exact same problem but anime to manga. Once they got permission from Murata to adapt the manga into anime, it was up to them how they'd adapt it. Maybe they did work with him (probably not judging by the QUALITY) but the best he can do is make suggestions. They aren't under any obligation to listen to him. Once you let someone adapt your work into a new medium they get control of it. ONE has two degrees of separation from the anime and he's busy with other manga and just doing the webcomic in his free time, I don't think he would be putting any time into making suggestions to the anime team that is adapting something that isn't even really his (the manga). As for why he says check out S3, well it's his IP so of course he's going to promote any content made of it, that doesn't mean he's directly involved in any way.In all honesty I have no clue what they're doing adapting pre-redraw stuff in the anime. Is it a mistake? Are they going for some weird hybrid version of the arcs? I think if they pick and choose redraw variants there's going to be a lot of inconsistencies, it doesn't strike me as them trying to "fix" the story especially with how little effort they've been putting into the rest of it.
