No matter what series he appears in, he just sounds like DIO now.The comment sections get flooded with memes like “JOTARO…,” “ZA WARUDO!”, and “KONO DIO DA!”, and at this point nobody takes his performance seriously as part of the story anymore.Even his role as Toji in JJK felt kinda like that.
That’s not JoJo’s fault; it’s just the fate of voice actors with very distinctive voices once they appear in a role that goes viral online.Sugita used to be called “Gintoki” no matter what role he played.And Natsuki Hanae will probably be called “Tanjiro” in everything he does for a while, too.

Back in the day, DIO’s image was built 100% on sheer coolness.But because of Koyasu’s over-the-top, meme-aware performance, almost like something Wakimoto would do, it’s hard to deny that DIO’s image has now shifted into a 50/50 mix of coolness and comedy born from sheer goofiness.
