This was all over /a/ when the manga was running but as soon as the previews for the anime dropped, all hope was lost. Is this the most severe example of an adaptation butchering the source material?
One of them. Berserk 2016/2017 gives it a run for its money. Also OPM Season 3 is up there too.

The original cursed adaptation was pic related, but even that had something of value (the OST) compared to Biscuit Hammer.
