Dub acting has had a very niche circle of fans for a long time now. And that's not including the normalfag that only watches an anime every now and then, but people that know who the dub actors are, and get their autographs at conventions and shit. These companies surely notice that the conversation around dub acting is generally geared towards how poor it is. And casual viewers won't give a shit if AI replaces them. To hop over to games for a moment, I've noticed that outside of larger releases dubs are practically endangered. If the game is geared more for an otaku audience the chances of it getting a dub are far lower. Not to mention how dual audio became the standard years ago. Many people just go in the settings and turn off the voices they spent a chunk of the localization budget working on.I predict that larger stuff will recieve AI dubs using the Japanese actors as a base, while everything else will be left without an English dub.
