Is it too much to ask a professional film critic to read five volumes of a jump manga in order to give the latest hit anime movie a proper review, or too much to expect anyone who has to have ever seen a movie that wasn't just an arc from a weekly shounen battle manga comic adapted verbatim?

>>284548103I don't think they even need to read the series up to that point. The Reze arc worked completely fine as a standalone where the only things that might not be properly conveyed without context are Aki's growth and Power. Everything else can be inferred without issue.

It's been confirmed part 2 was not planned at all and only made because the series was too big to end right?It's meandering trash. The series clearly ended with part 1. Maybe through in an epilogue of him finding power again to wrap it all up. I will forgive if it was a corpo decision.

He hated taking care of Nayuta because it meant the had to live like an adult instead of chasing girls and fame all day. He skipped searching for her (even if it was irrational) because getting laid sounded better. When it comes to Asa he feels no real care for her obviously being taken over by a hostile devil, and even seems to like Yoru more than her because she's hornier. While the part is meandering, Denji's role as someone who is unable to grow up and accept that life isn't all about feeling good, is something that has been handled pretty well. His solution to all problems has been, "so what, I'm still gonna try and feel good", and that has just led him back to the start over and over again. The issue is that he splits pagetime with Asa, who there really doesn't seem to have been as strong of a plan for. Her material is just aimless and even regressive.
