I truly cannot stand the fact that the series stopped being about Saitama after the first season and how, right now, in the anime it's about all of these stupid characters we don't give a damn about.I have an idea of how this series could've been executed much better. What you do is imply that this world takes place in the same world D.C., Marvel, Dragon Ball, Boku No Hero, and several others "super hero" properties just by having vague shadowy silhouettes of famous heroes like Spiderman and Goku appear on screen. This would make it crystal clear that this is a world of powerful heroes and villains and they wouldn't need to spend time world-building. You could spend all of that time emphasizing how Saitama is such an anomaly. He's a world-class hero who is arguably stronger than everybody, but he's so oblivious to world events and everybody is equally oblivious to his existence. Write fascinating "what if?" style stories of what would happen if Saitama were around doing any major event in a hero comic or anime. Like, Buu did the attack that kills everybody on Earth. Saitama, of course, is unphased by this, but walks around town wondering "Where did everybody go?" Hijinks ensue as he takes the liberty to do whatever he wants now. Later on, he feels Goku asking for energy for the Spirit Bomb and donates the energy that vaporizes Kid Buu. Of course, they wouldn't actually have those characters, but it would be implied. You write stories that would effectively place Saitama in other universes. Shit like that would actually be fun and interesting.
