>>284560732I sort of agree with you there. It isn't that I disliked the original OVAs but I just liked having an actual story. I also know I watched AD Police but can't really remember anything about it.
>>284560734I hate Isekai for girls
>>284560893Wasn't this really popular for awhile?
>>284560930I think it has a cult following
These threads are frustrating because all of the "bargain bin forgotten anime" I can think of from the VHS/DVD era keep ending up on Amazon Prime or whatever so I just end up looking like a tourist for bringing them up. I mean come on, who the fuck remembers watching Gokudo, Maze, or Zenki ten years ago?
>>284562065Just post about them with screencaps and filenames from torrented sources and laugh at anyone who brings up Amazon.
It feels like that sometimes
SUGAR BAAAABY LOOOOVEMan I wish theres more to this thing. I fucking love Sugar
>>284562565Everyone would recognize that if you showed her tits.
>>284562584I like to give people a challenge
>>284560820>>2845607322040 is neat but it kinda fumbles around with the story once it tries to focus. They keep flipflopping on what the villain is (should have stuck with either the loli or the goth cougar) and land on the least interesting possibility and the actual ending randomly pulls out this forlorn philosophical tone while focusing on a character who didn't feel that strongly the protagonist until then. Also you can really tell they changed their plans midway through with the plot, there's blatant foreshadowing early that goes nowhere later.
>>284562065Not-Slayers was just okay.
>>284560707So THAT's where Oh!Great took the name for Ringo's power in Air Gear!
>>284560732>>284563136It's better written, OVA are just pretty but kind of shallow but I would say all of BGC is kind of a mess of a series also Parasite Dolls is fucking weird, great OP song though.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpvR6TVIGY0
Some reason it's never bought up with all the other artsy 00's anime.

>>284562065Tubi anime, I watch the live RetroCrush channel on Roku and other anime channels on Pluto sometimes just for the hell of it, they play some odd shit sometimes, it's weird to think there's likely a whole generation of poor weebs who can't use pay for streaming but don't have cable but also too young or dumb to torrent growing up on these titles because they don't know it's old and just see a cool anime thing they put on. At least they're growing up with better cartoons since they mainly just have old shit too. But yeah they were playing shit like Nuku Nuku on one those free channels the other day.
>>284563434I tried rewatching this a while back but had a hard time finding it on public trackers. The only download I could find looked like shit and had Portugese hard subs. You'd think an Akiyuki Shibo production would be preserved better.
I only remember this existed because it's soundtrack is in my playlist, but I don't even remember watching it
>>284563621Weird, because it had an English dub and US release you think it be easy to find, I watched on free Anime Network On Demand thing as a kid. I check to see if DVD is cheap since I notice DVDs have gone down for anime and it's mainly just Blu Rays that are costly.
>>284563650Might be on HiDive since they apparently acquired all the old Anime Network licenses (which is how I saw it in the first place) but I can't check their library without making an account first so fuck them.
>>284563702That's true also I checked the DVD in the 15 to 40 dollar range, no bootlegs thankfully.
also there's a doll in FMA 03 that looks lot like Le Cossette even though ova came out years later and different staff/studio.
I remember there being some eye ball licking and...time travel? Or something?
>>284563945>virus wipes out all moids>like 20 years later there's two main factions of women>one side thinks humanity should just cop the L and die with dignity, which mostly uses machines>the other side thinks humanity should do whatever it takes to survive, which mostly uses bioengineering >the other side invents a machine that, when injected vaginally and activated, it causes the woman to turn into a monster that lays an egg containing a human male baby, which the monster will protect with her life>when the doomers find out they're mortified and it won't be long before war breaks out if negotiations break down>meanwhile, a grizzled veteran mech pilot from the doomer faction has a romance with a bratty princess from the transhuman factionDunno where you got time travel from tho
>>284560734I showed the movie to a friend a couple months ago. I'd completely forgotten that the threw out the emperor entirely to focus just on Van's brother
given all the other IP's getting brought out of cold storage I wonder if this won't have a chance to get a full manga adaption
The 00s is full of shit. With 90s and older shit you can brag about being culture but there's no pride in knowing the early 2000s because people still want to think the 2000s are recent. They are notDeath note(2006) will turn 20 next year. You are old
>>284567037>You are oldENOUGHDon't make it worse than what it already is
>>284567037Going back to the 2000's anime scene and checking out all the stuff I'd slept on when I was younger was a great decision. I found so much good stuff that you virtually never see anyone mention. I think a lot of people have trouble pushing through the hurdle where you've seen the 100 or so anime that are wideley considered masterpieces so everything else comes across as just not as good thus not worthy your time. but once you balance that out with both a whole bunch of experimental anime that are simultaneously good and bad, and also a bunch of just genuinely 4/10 and below anime, suddenly there's this huge bounty of anime that go from 'a mere 7/10' to 'a really good 7/10'

>>284560734Escaflowne just got a theatre screening announced a few hrs ago
Enter.
I should rewatch it some day
It had an absolutely godlike OST
>>284560707I love Dragon Drive so much. The anime was also smart to insert a slight change at the end so that the later part of the manga was removed out of the story for the anime.I can talk all day about how the manga shat the bed so hard after Reiji got removed as the MC. Thankfully, the anime did the right thing and only adapted the Reiji part while also giving it a change so I can pretend the later half of manga never exist.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nP6YrCoTbOQ
