I was watching a video of Saint Seiya, and it took the famous japanese serial killer to explain the end of graphic violence in mainstream animes. We're talking about how we've gone from Fist of the North Star to Dragonball, Saint Seiya to One Piece and so on, so basically the ease to see blood, the gore, mutilated bodies and organs and not at least the graphic show of death.

>>284576082>nothen what did it
Gorefags are so annoying it's unreal.
>>284576258But it's not about gore anon, there is a difference between Violence Jack and Fist of the North Star, or Genocyber and Cowboy Bebop.
>>284576058Violence didn't end, we still get lots of anime with high amounts of gore. You're a newfag.
>>284576058>We're talking about how we've gone from Fist of the North Star to Dragonball, Saint Seiya to One PieceDragon Ball is older than Saint Seiya. FotNS is only one year older than Dragon Ball.
>>284576949> obscured angles of impact> no penetrations> black blood or comically large amounts> glowing rainbow throw up> no organs or any detail
>>284577134This is literally a description of the FotNS anime adaptation you fucking newfag secondary.
>>284576949Twinkle Fagimoto, the magical interior decorator who was betrayed, kicked from the hero party and left for dead for having an apparently useless skill, turning his big-titty ex-healer into living chair to be eternally used by your mom in a shoddly censored scene doesn't count, even if it gives you a boner
>>284576949I think you can get gore if you go and search for it, also thanks to the streamization of animes, but back in the past somewhere between the 2 centuries TV channels chose to not stream anime for kids with people in it dying etc...Or maybe the studios did not accept some works.
>rec thread >OGNB threadWhich is it?
>>284577553say it without acronyms I'm newfag on this board
>>284577333Trips of tripsIt must be true
Tastes changed. The movement was broader than just Japanese media, American and Hong Kong action movies also moved away from the hardcore stuff after the 90s. I don't think you can attribute it to any one thing, but if you're looking for a standout factor, maybe the move away from cocaine towards weed and synthetic painkillers as the recreational drugs of choice.
>>284578690so you think there hasn't been a sensibilization towards violence from western and eastern medias and parents basically?
>>284577217> newfag secondaryIf you are talking about the latest adaption coming out that shouldnt even be called anime its cgi video game cut scene.I watched the actual anime before this site even existed. Before you existed.
Toddlertoons like 1pis sell better
>>284578830A couple things:-I think primarily this sort of thing comes and goes in waves.-Parental pushback against this stuff is usually a given. It definitely exists, but because of its near-constant presence I don't think it's enough to explain the trends fully. I do think that Hollywood's move away from R-rated action movies in favor of PG-13 as the goal for blockbusters has had a long-term and far-ranging impact though.-Regardless of pushback, I just don't think we're in a moment where there is a lot of popular demand for hardcore content. Kids who do gravitate towards the stuff are in a minority, and they can find worse stuff online for their appetites, like animal abuse and traffic accident videos.
>>284576949There has not been an anime in the last twenty years as bloody as Violence Jack.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ABgdtriRCik
