Personally I don't really see the point of it isn't an adaptation of the entire series. The anime was absolutely awful (I guess people really like the OP's, but I don't remember any of them), weekly slop with terrible animation and characters constantly looking off-model. For it to suddenly return with a potentially higher quality adaptation only to cover the shoddy penultimate arc and downright terrible final arc and ending just seems like a total waste.
