I've only watched more adaptations of his works than read his original mangas but my favorite by far is th Book of Human Insects. Regarding the adaptations, Dezaki's Black Jack OVAs are really great.

I find funny that Alabaster's MC is a black guy drawn with a normal face, but later Tezuka kept drawing blacks that look like Mr. Popo for the rest of his career
