Do the reboot, rerun seasons 2 and 3, and now they'll have gotten well enough into the team battle in the manga that they can actually adapt a good chunk of it, and anyone that fell off or missed it from the multiple hiatuses is ready for it. Besides, I don't think it's a good idea to have an entire season be just the homework arc and then a break to wait for more material
>>284618569I think the idea is by the time they've finished rebooting season 1, the second phase of the away mission test would be over halfway done so they can start season 4 for the first half of the away mission test and once that's done the story will finally enter the boat (real). S1 was so bad partially because it got announced when there was like 100 weekly chapters out and the anime caught up very quickly and needed to stall for time. Now instead of doing filler, they'll redo S1 to try to keep the release momentum up, rather than do S4 now, then have to wait another possibly 4-5 years for S5.
