Honestly I always thought that Sasuke's character writing was one of the worst things about this series. I never cared for his sob story, it always felt like the series was trying too hard to make the reader feel sorry for him while also making him as irredeemable as possible, and pretty much all the relationships he has with other characters are either boring or forced as fuck. >Naruto is constantly obsessed with him even though he doesn't even really understand what Sasuke feels or is going through for most of the story (he thought Orochimaru corrupted him, but Sasuke ends up killing him because he's too much of an evil scumbag, and Kishimoto needed to add a completely new twist with Konoha setting up the Uchiha genocide to make Sauce become an evil schizo and retroactively make Naruto's point about "vengeance is le bad" be correct)>Sakura has a school crush on him that she never let go of, Sasuke never gave a shit about her>He goes from hating Itachi him to pretty much worshipping him in like 1 chapter; it's like it's impossible for Sasuke to see him in a nuanced manner>His relationship with Orochimaru isn't explored at all, even though he's been his master for 3 years>He doesn't have any sort of meaningful relationship with Obito despite the fact that he was the one that made him actually change sides>He doesn't have any sort of meaningful relationship with any of his Taka teammates even though all 3 of them are always willing to risk their lives just to save him
