Are you interested in the new Ghost in the Shell anime from Science Saru?
>>284625742yeah looks like the manga
>>284625742Yes, very.
>>284625827I wonder if its more light hearted and wacky like the manga is
>>284625742>Science Saru>manga designYes.
>>284625742No.
>>284625742Sure, why not? It's a decent studio and the premise of adapting the manga truthfully is both fairly original, not simple trashy nostalgiabait and adaptations of stories that used to be uber-popular are rarely a bad watch.
>>284625742>GitS by Science Saru>but not directed by the gay commie (even though I like his work a lot)Yes, very much so.
Hell no. I'd rather soon watch the live-action Hollywood adaptation before watching koreanshit.
>>284626848>Shirow>Science Saru>Korean???
>>284626886>Science Saru>KoreanCorrect
>>284625742not until they show anything substantial
>>284625742Saru’s been doing good in general so it gives me some faith.
they're finally adapting the manga so yes
>>284626907According to OP's pic it starts next month, but I can't see that confirmed anywhere else
>>284627400Was just gonna ask about that. Closest confirmation I saw was that it's airing in a new block that starts in Jan, but not that GitS itself starts then.If it is then, rip every other show I was hyped for
>>284625742YesSanda looked and felt great, I'm hoping for similar levels of quality
>>284625742I'm cautiously optimistic since the designs resemble the manga.
>>284626889What are you talking about?
I just want to find all the manga chapters and read that
I only watched the old movie and SAC. Are the other series (minus the 3D vomit with Illya) good?
>>284625742>Science SaruNever made a good thing.
>>284625895I can't wait for the Internet to fill with secondaries complaining about how "Saru ruined Ghost in the Shell and Motoko">>284625742I can't believe it took this long for the series to finally escape Oshii's movie's shadow. Hopefully, even after this adaptation, every following series will try to capture the fantastic tone and direction of the manga .
>>284628325Is a korean studio but people say that it have changed of hands lately.
>>284628421What's stopping you from doing that?
No GITS manga is overrated by a very tiny cohort of contrarians that should go back to /m/. And Science Saru has lost a lot of animation talent in the last 5 years on top of that.
>>284625742>screen thrill newskill yourself subhuman
>284628608LMAO at this magnacuck seething. Everyone, including you, knows gits would be nothing without oshii's masterpiece.
>>284628652No money to do it legally Too stupid to find them pirated
>284628660>The manga that nobody who pretends to love the series has read, and that Oshi famously hated? Yeah, that one is overrated.
>>284628624So you don't even know the first thing about them? Science Saru is a Japanese studio founded by Yuasa Masaaki.
>>284628835There's no reason to think Oshii hated the manga. He'd have loved Man-Machine Interface if it was released when he was still making GITS films.
>>284628472I watched both the Arise series of OVAs and film, and SAC_2045, a couple of months ago, and my recommendation is: don't bother. Arise is borderline unintelligible. You can tell that Tow Ubukata is a book writer and that he struggles to edit his stories and concepts down to fit the space of an average TV episode. It seriously needed a script doctor. "The New Movie" was more digestible and enjoyable, but sadly it asks that the viewer be familiar with the 5 OVAs.SAC_2045's main issue isn't even the 3DCG (which I got used to pretty quickly) or the new designs, but that the script lacks any imagination. The previous two seasons had one foot in the present and the other in the future, but 2045 is more concerned with current topics than anything else. There's a whole episode about cryptocurrency, for example, and another that is basically about cancel culture, which now feels so embarrassingly dated. The Major is barely in the story, too, which sucks, but given that by then Atsuko Tanaka was probably already sick, they maybe had to work around it.
>>284629232The Sustainable War tagline they kept throwing out really didn't feel like it had anything to it. I hated the concept of Post-Humans and then just being tech wizards didn't appeal to me, either. Purrin didn't fit the cast at all. It felt like fanart of some girl from another anime photoshopped into GITS.
>>284625742So who is voicing Major? Maaya or Ami?
>>284629286>Sustainable WarThey shamelessly lift the entire concept from MGS4's war economy. I like the idea, and it fits SAC timeline, but it was mostly background noise and was tossed aside once they introduced the whole "post-human" thing.>Purrin didn't fit the cast at all. Yep. Her antics and her designs made her feel so out of place. >It felt like fanart of some girl from another anime photoshopped into GITS.I think she was based on Logiko, from Ghost in the Shell: Nyuumon Arise, which is basically an anthropomorphic version of the Logicoma. Which is what I assumed Purin was at first.
>>284629591>Which is what I assumed Purin was at first.Samfagging to say, I think it was intentional, since there's a whole line from Batou where he says he thought Purin was an AI when he met her on the chopper for the first time.
