The original unbastardized version is a pretty nice spoopy episodic show for kids. Think Goosebumps and Are you Afraid of the Dark. This show was actually properly dubbed in my native language when I was a kid and some episodes definitely spooked me. If you're a grownass man, then it's still a nice time capsule of turn of the millennium Japan horror pop culture.To give the dub some credit, some jokes do actually do hit quite well even if viewed in a vacuum outside the context of the show. The thing about the dub is that it's a perfect time capsule of early 2000s humor. If you grew up during the Bush administration it's a great nostalgia trip.

The dub is great comedy. The genuine sub makes it into a perfectly fine Japanese horror show for kids/teens that can be watched and enjoyed by anyone. It's very solid, there's nothing bad about it at all. Well worth a legit watch.
