>>284663834Haruhi is still ongoing? it's been what, 20 years?are they still in high school after all this time? is God still unaware of everything?
>>284663963With multiple hiatus, one of nearly 10 years.
>>284663834I love this volume. It's got one of Nagato's best moments in the end.
Oh I keep forgetting to read thisThe 2020 book was good though I remember spending the afternoon reading it day one
>>284663879I still wonder how one anon got a really high-res version of those illustrations out of the previews.
>>284663834So, what does this mean?
>>284665057New pachinko announcement soon.
>>284663963No. The series functionally ended in 2011. There have been two new books since then:>One released in 2020 that collects a bunch of random Haruhi short stories the author wrote for special occasions in the 2010s, plus a new story that actually does have a couple of minor "lore" reveals>One released in 2025. Way back in 2004 the author released the first two chapters of a Haruhi story he never got around to finishing. This book seemingly only exists because he randomly remembered it was a thing and decided to write the last two chaptersSo it's less that the series is "still going", and more "the author still writes stories with the characters once in a blue moon"
>>284664932You can use this script:>BookWalker Cover Downloaderhttps://github.com/rRoler/UserScriptsIt's mainly used for extracting covers, but you can also use it to rip color illustrations from LNs. Just find a novel on BookWalker, select a page using the dropdown menu, click "Set Download Source," wait a few seconds, and then click "Save Cover."
>>284663834Why there's still no Season 3? It's been how long since the kyoani burning?
>>284665339There's also the Aya Hirano problem
>>284665370She voiced the Yuki Nagato spinoff
At some point the pendulum has to swing back around and Haruhi becomes trendy again, even if just from a retro/nostalgia angle right?
>>284665148I literally just finished rereading Intuition (mainly because I'd forgotten whether or not I'd ever actually read it in the first place) and it made me sad to remember just how much talent this guy has as a writer but how little he puts it to use
>>284665148Has the author written anything outside of Haruhi?
>>284663834New novel when
>>284665928A fewmost of them were flopsone was cancelled
>>284665944You'd think the guy would go back to Haruhi and milk it for all its worth rather than churning out a book once a decade or so. Unless he stopped writing and became a salaryman or something.
>>284665370No one cares Hirano had sex
>>284665984Nothose flops were all before he made haruhihe made a manga but then got bored so he cancelled it himselfthats the only thing he made after haruhi iirc
>>284665984Royalties probably set him for life
>>284663834NiceI enjoyed reading it
>>284665984He probably lost interestSad but it happens
>>284665984https://mangadex.org/title/047a9427-dfcb-4bb6-a6d7-f762479f22ea/kagerou-meikyuu
>>284665148Intuition is mostly new stuff. The first two out of three chapters are old, and the third is quite long. Though it's true that Theater is just an unfinished arc he returned to later. But it's also one of the best volumes too. I'd place it between Wavering and Intrigues because it feels out of place as the newest volume. It takes place after Live Alive.I'm mostly optimistic that he'll continue now that all the old stuff is finished or compiled. But it could be that he was simply cleaning up and isn't really sure if he wants to continue for real. >>284665984I like how it doesn't have 20+ volumes to keep up with like a lot of other series. Compared to manga a novel is more dense, and a lot of LNs just end up bloated and long winded. Like how are there over 40 books in the Index series? What even happens in those?
>>284666514>Like how are there over 40 books in the Index series? What even happens in those?filler, filler, pseudo-intellectual filler, battle shonen filler, filler
>>284666514>But it's also one of the best volumes tooI don't know, it felt to me like a rehash of Snowy Mountain Syndrome complete with the whole "what if WE'RE the copies and our original selves are out there carrying on as normal"
>>284666514I'm sure there is an acceptable medium between 10 volumes of slop within 2 years and 1 new volume per decade.
Who are these monkeys and how many seasons would it take to get to them?
>>284667417They wouldn't appear until season 4. The whole arc they come from would also probably take up every episode slot.
>>284665295Thank you.
KyoAni will go for an original ending anway
>>284665370Anyone that complained died of a heart attack already.
>>284666244I really liked this one. Was it axed or just in TL hell?
>>284667449Split the arc, sprinkle it in between other episodes in s3 & s4, make people argue over chronological vs broadcast all over again.
So was this leak going around real or just another attention whoring scam?
>>284666514It was obviously only meant to be the four first volumes, and then the publisher milked it.Which is probably only why the first four volumes were adapted. They more or less told the whole story he wanted to tell.
>>284667417Kyon's new harem members
>>284667417Two of them would appear in the third season.
>>284670584We'll probably get the official announcement after the movie re-screening
>>284664932Haruhi's harem
>>284671717Yep.
