Anno will be forgotten, all the sequels of Evangelion are more forgettable than the last. What did he contribute to anime as a whole? Harems? There's Love Hina. Miyazaki has made various works and most of them could be anyone's favorite movie. And he made Animation a more serious work than just kids cartoons., without adding gore, sex or Christian imagery.

Maybe this is just my projection, but there's a lot of bad stories and negative attitudes towards miyazaki that are probably going to get much more public once he dies. People are a lot more touchy about saying bad things about living veterans, but how many people are gonna come out and start talking shit once he's gone? Isn't that what always happens?Like I don't think it's going to be like jimmy saville or something but it seems a lot of people quietly refuse to work with him.
