So far, there's no purpose for Tsurugi to have a Heavenly Restriction. We don't see him perform the kind of outlandish feats that previous HR users could, and we also don't really see him deal with the consequences of his disposition, so this aspect of him isn't satisfying from a fighting-focused angle or a character-focused angle. I'll reserve judgement until later because Modulo isn't over yet, but I'd like Tsurugi's HR to play more of a role than being a forced parallel between him and Maki.I also don't see the value of designing Yuka and Tsurugi as counterparts to Yuta and Maki. The grandkids' relationships with their grandparents was relevant for exactly 1 chapter and was used to set up the premise of the story but did nothing beyond that. We aren't shown how these relationships shaped the way the Yuka and Tsurugi think. We're simply expected to believe that they drive the characters' motivations. This reminds me of Yuji and his unshown relationship with his grandfather. Not much would change if the siblings were any other Zenin's kid.I'm remaining optimistic, albeit worriedly. There must be more to Modulo than it seems since a lot of plot points - the ring, Dabura's sister, Yuji, Mahito - haven't been addressed yet, so there should be plenty of time for Gege to deliver where I expect him to.
