Okay so here's my problems with this fight as a DeidarafagThe last time we see Deidara I believe he was talking about their mission still - getting tailed beasts for the Gedo statue. But they run into Sasuke, and immediately Deidara is like hypnotized into doing a boss rush through his strongest techniques that would make Frieza blush culminating in his own suicide... why? How will this help him with any of his goals? He is acting as Akatsuki, if he suddenly decided he doesn't want to do that and he just wants to kill Itachi for revenge, it wasn't shown to the viewer at all. So why fight Sasuke? Especially after its shown he's losing. This is a man who successfully escaped six people including Might Guy and Neji and Kakashi with NO ARMS. (1/2)

Also apparently nobody has ever tried to just use literally any lightning jutsu against Deidara because it completely nerfs him. (3/2) Deidara losing to Sasuke breaks rules established in other fights, it makes up new ones that are never utilized again, and it requires both characters to be written differently than they have been before. It's trash. It's shit writing, objectively. I dont care that Deidara died. Obviously all the Akatsuki are destined to die. But even a little bit of writing skill could have turned what should have been one of the best fights in part 2 and a chance to really show off Sasuke's growth to a frustrating sloppy mess. Oh and I hate Tobi, according to how he is written later he should be helping, he could have killed Sasuke effortlessly when they interacted earlier, he literally is also hypnotized to act completely out of character.
