How accurate is this translation? Rate it.

Pretty awful. But mostly the response from the miss tits out.
In case she's being sarcastic, the translation doesn't convey that.
In case she's being familiar, the translation doesn't convey that.

One thing I absolutely loathe of the official translations is how they turn all "-san" and such to Mr, Mrs or Ms.
Sure, it can be translated as that, but context matters too.

Here, she calls her "Lala-Oneechan", but they localize it to "Miss Lala", which doesn't convey the same feeling of familiarity/intimacy, specially considering Lalawag refers to herself as "Lalawag-Oneesan" (which is an indirect way from her part to tell Diana she can call her big sis).

"They" fumbled the Lalawag part pretty bad.
>>
>>284685853
top left panel should probably be more casual
なんだい should be closer to "what's up?"
用かな could be something like "need something from me?"
rest is fine, sans -san removal

>translation
>accurate
if translations could be accurate there would be point in having two languages in the first place
language is not some mathematical equation that always gives the same result

This.
It is especially jarring when later in the chapter we see that both of them share incredibly close bond of having parts of the same goddess inside of them.
She was indirectly telling her that they were "family" "born" from the same being.

and yet "good morning" is a more accurate translation of おはようございます than "hovercraft"
you're halfway there, anon
but you need to up your overanalysis game above clinically pedantic, such that it circles back into being useful

Any need to hire humans who can only produce translations worse than AI?
>>
>>284693139
you can teach a human certain principles of translation that will result in less mistakes, and if they fail to learn, you can replace them with someone that will
you can't teach an LLM to stop hallucinating random bullshit, nor can you replace an LLM with a different LLM that will never hallucinate bullshit since they are impossible.
>>
>>284693228
a decent modern LLM (let alone future ones) combines with a sane human being fluent in both languages to check the translation, not even a pro translator necessarily - already vastly speeds up both quantity and quality.
The most time consuming (and annoying) part of translation is "how tf do you say this in that language...i swear there was an expression....ughhh...ah, there it is!" which LLMs can do incredibly fast.

>>284689284
Using "big sis Lala" would be more accurate yes?

>only this guy's highly opinionated views are valid
Yeah, I get you faggots tend to idolize 'based' people but who gives a shit. I find him amusing and a great writer, but that's all.
Nobody translates like Nabokov, nobody followed his advice. It's like preaching that the only way to build an OS is what that racist schizo did.

More importantly, nobody reads Nabokov's translations for pleasure.
If you're reading manga, i.e., comic books with pictures written for kids and teenagers, as a scholarly enterprise then you're doing it wrong.

Just "Lala" was fine. In the Japanese version she was going to call her Lalawag or Lalawag-san. She stopped at "Lalawa-", just like in the English version, which also doesn't make sense to add the Miss but drop the full name.
>>
>You want something from Big Sister Lalawag?
>Lalawa... Big Sis Lala, can you really see my goat?
>>
>>284695752
Diana starting with "Lalawa-" after that kinda made it awkward though.

It's not even vulgar.

Lewd, perverted and "wrong" are not so bad, anon.
It's clear from the context and the characters blushing/nosebleed.
