Animation used to be so much more unique back in the day. Now everything looks the same.

>>284693648I personally love 80s/90s OVAs/Movies, but making OLD = GOOD, NEW = BAD argument is dumb. Nigga, I’ve been watching anime and I’m old enough to remember having to buy a tape out of a catalog and hope to god it comes in 6 to 8 weeks. There was tons of shit back then. There’s more shit now, but there’s more seasonally anime. Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust was a beautifully animated movie with an insane budget. Most of the examples I always see>Akira >The clip of Noa operating the experimental Labor in Patlabor 2>Angel Cop (head exploding and most of the animation was trash) >Vampire Hunter D: BL All of these were high budget animations. That’s like comparing a 1992 Honda NSX racecar, that was build for the Japanese GT circuit to a 2020 base model Civic and saying: “New is garbage! Look at this 30 year old care destroying the bussy with its BVC (BIG VTEC COCK)!”
>>284702751You lost me at the end big dawg. I don’t get the penis references
>>284693902>>284694047>>284694076>>284699607>newfags dont recognize vampire hunter d
Back then studios had more time and budget. They also had more creative freedom. Now everyone just spams isekai slop because it's much easier, simpler and faster. People also tend to forget that the average salary in Japanese animation is abysmal. A typical artist earns like $500-700 a month. In fucking Japan.
>>284703340I know what it is. Doesn't change the fact that OP posted still images while talking about animation.
Video games and anime used to be SOVL
