There was a celebration a while back about the continuous run without breaks even. The problem is that the chapters are very short, just 11-12 pages. Currently, it feels like even when there's something interesting it barely explored since next month's chapter is about something completely different.The first two parter chapter in ages was about the Keroro platoon turning into kids again, and even then the first chapter ends with Natsumi turned into a monster girl, but that's all already resolved when the 2nd part starts.

most random remake i have ever seen to be quite honest.
My best hope with a new anime is that we may get more people interested in the manga. The spanish edition is painfully slow, they got about a volume per year up to 2018, then nothing for 5 years, then a voulme in 2023 and another in 2025. We're still 5 volumes behind the japanese edition, but I guess we still have it better than other editions

So, people are very aware the VAs wanted to continue and basically have been kicked out, even if they're in the 60s and even 70s now.I don't know which direction they will go with the new VAs, but I'd bet that for Keroro, they want someone that can play standard Keroro, but also play "cute idol girl" too, so much younger than Kumiko Watanabe. "Kerin Hoshizora" is getting merch in spite of only appearing in a single manga chapter.Dunno if it will be Kerin or some other variation of a "cute girl Keroro" design (like the Kemono Friends ones which go more for "cute" rather than sexy Kerin), but I bet that's at least part of the reason they wanted to refresh the cast.
