With all the dead guys wank lately, do you think there is a chance they are planning on reviving at least some of them? The kind of plot where they faked their deaths and went into hiding. Maybe not Date, since it would be extra awkward with his girlfriend being dead, but others would have less problems.

They got their own spin-off manga, Scotch had a scene in the recent movie where it was a what if dream of him still being alive, next movie and Chihaya's memories in the manga are all about her brother and Jinpei. At this point it's not just "hey, remember these guys", it's more like they are trying to make them part of the cast any way they can.
