Just discuss Akira in general, wether it's the anime, manga or the upcoming adaptation with no updates about its development

22-years old here, watched Akira for the first time and it was amazing. The upcoming TV Anime adaptation that will attempt to accurately adapt the manga that started before but ended after the movie's release but they've given no info other that it will be made by Sunrise, but the the original creator has been working on an original movie with the Studio so it seems he wants to finish that and then perhaps supervise/direct the TV series?
Also even though I've been watching anime since I was a kid, it surprised that a mangaka would direct the anime adaptation of his own manga before it's over, just the fact that he's able to both animate and illustrate a manga competently is impressive and I cannot think of other anime that I've watched where that's the case. Another thing that surprised me was how the music composer is apparently an agricultural scientist professor who's still active in his field who just does music as a hobby, that's such a weird get since apparently Akira is the only piece of media that he composed music for, makes me question how he got involved in the project.

I'm waiting for a remake where Akira is played by a tranny, and Tetsua is renamed Tico.

The author also made a live-action film once, haven't watched it though

The director listened to an album that the composer was involved with then managed to find out where he lived, went to his house and asked him personally to work on the movie because he found his music unique
the composer originally rejected to work on it since he's a professor with no proper music training hat just had a symphony for hobby but the director insisted resulting in him being hired
This is the album that convinced Katsuhiro Ootomo to hire Shouji Yamashiro btw: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=OLAK5uy_ng01HUt7SemaJ7tdg5I5gfoGN_ll7a5mk
