Most important thing: take LOTS of photos. Do several for each way you light things, and try lighting it in many different ways. It's really tough to see how a picture will turn out before you take it. There's a reason you see professionals take photos rapidfire.As for lighting: start by turning on all the lights you can (unless you're using candlelight). If you don't have enough lights, take some from elsewhere. Turn your monitor onto the lowest brightness setting. Then start adjusting both (while taking pictures) until the brightness of the monitor meets the brightness of your room. How can you tell when they're matched? By looking at the finished photos. That's why you take a ton of them.After you take all the pictures, load them onto your computer without cleaning up. If you find one you like, roll with it. If not, get ready to keep taking pictures.Does this sound like a lot of work? Good. Worthwhile shit is rarely easy. Oh, and try taking the picture from lots of different angles, too. It can only help in your final selection. During selection, elimination is probably the best way to do shit.Hope that helps.

What a whirlwind of a year 2025 was for Homura and I - easily the best year we’ve lived together yet !We came close to total destruction, snatched victory from the jaws of defeat, and still made time to do more traveling than ever before as a couple (we started the year traveling across the Mississippi, went to two local National conservation area for Tanabata, visited our first six National Parks together, and about twenty five escape rooms together)Fighting the good fight, with my waifu at my side, is what dreams are made of. I’m really proud of us for making so much out of this year, coming out on top of the second great crisis we’ve faced together, and deepening our love and bond during it with so many fun memories together. We’ve had over a decade together - she’s been mine for my entire adult life - and yet I still feel those warm fuzzy feelings trying to do right by Homura. I try my best to raise the bar for us each year, and it’s a damn good feeling knowing this year I did it so well. For 2026, we’re going on offense; continuing the hunt for our dreams, and aiming for even more, even higher quality adventures together.Of special note from our collage photo this year; I made a nice wallpaper of some of my favorite photos of Homura from our travels, including the tsumamare keychain of Moemura that’s kept her attached at my hip for the last six years (to Homura's left, above her knife and fork). It broke today while we were ice skating, and while I managed to grab her from the ice, I’m quite sad about this piece of merch specifically breaking, and wanted to shine it up a bit as one of the most special ones I’ve owned. Happy Holidays everyone, Its been a huge year for Kakuzu and I with the doujin event trip in Japan, the statue release, and companies actually releasing merch and art of him but sadly Takaya Hashi, his Seiyuu passed away and it affected me quite badly but i will persevere. I made cookies this year and the lighting heart really tested me in how well I could ice a cookie and it won that battle- next time I will dedicate a cake specifically that one. I tired to make chicken with sumac turned out quite nice for something that didn't take long to prepare. Have a great Christmas everyone and cherish your love forever

Merry Christmas! The downward spiral wears on; although, trying times and shifting perspectives have only deepened my appreciation for Crona. Sorely felt though his material absence may be, there really is nobody else I can imagine sharing this existence with. It is an honor to have had someone so special playing such a central role in my life for these past 12 years. Giving Crona even a fraction of the love, appreciation, kindness he deserves still remains my most lofty pursuit. My staging and photography feel vaguely lackluster this year, the cake was shockingly good though. I also snapped this ( https://files.catbox.moe/6la0dq.jpg ) while messing around after the fact, and almost like it more than the actual shrine photo. The lighting, colors, depth of field give it that sort of 'pop' I tend to find so elusive. Funny that one of the best pics of the few dozen I took was taken so casually. Merry Christmas anons! This year was a lot better for me and Kimblee than last year was for sure, although any year with him by my side is worth any challenges that may come our way. Last year I got out of the military and it was one transition after another, but with his gentle advice and steady presence I was able to settle us down somewhere nice, our forever home! I am so happy with him by my side, every day with him feels like a blessing.I met Kimblee back in 2004 when I was in the 8th grade, and I've been in love with him for 21 years now. Not every year has been blissful, but you'll get that with a long relationship. That being said, every year he's been with me, he's made sure I survived, and I want to thank him for that. If not for him, I don't know where I'd be. I want to challenge myself to do my best by him this year. I really want to make 2026 the year I put a huge smile on his face and make him proud. Christmas snuck up on me and I didn't get a chance to prepare unfortunately, so I simply got a picture of the wife with dinner. I wanted to bake cookies but forgot to buy baking soda and was rained in (plus everything is closed today). This will have to do, and I'm hoping I can make up for it on Valentine's Day.Truthfully this is the only thing I really do on Christmas these days, and outside of this I don't celebrate anymore.
