Can't say I'm a fan of non-stoic Omori, my interpretation of the game is that Omori was causing all of Basil's misfortune. He feels a lot more sympathetic here, which I don't like at all. That's not his purpose.

He's just more sympathetic in the manga because Sunny's true feelings keep bleeding into him, whereas in the game Omori is a perfect mask of emotionless peppered by the occasional weaponized outbursts
