Ok now there are just straight up too many characters. This is odd for a Nihei manga because he usually has no qualms with just straight up killing or maiming important characters but the cast keeps getting bigger and bigger. I guess for me, what it comes down to, is how entertaining the new cast will be. If Nihei can juggle that amount of characters and the newcomers add fun new dynamics, I won't have any problems with their addition. Main difference between the easterners right now and, say, Iscale's troupe, was that we already got a nice sense for the characters in Iscale's case, so it's harder to take an immediate liking to their appearance.On another note, this chapter is the first time I feel the pacing of the manga walking dangerously close to a steep cliff, with the ability of everyone constantly talking through the rings and fairies and increase in character numbers. I really hope Nihei is aware of this.

Going as far back as Wizardry, samurai and ninja were a staple of dungeon crawler games and more recently Elden Ring had also characters from "the land of reeds" and I think FromSoft's games are a pretty clear inspiration for Tower Dungeon. Next chapter should be interesting (and probably also amusing), since Miligore went back to see what the commotion at the fortress is about.

However the not-japanese are clearly using contextual gimmicks like the curtain or the ray of light to "complete" the symbol again. Their X symbol looks very bare and incomplete by default, but add a central vertical line and it becomes exactly the kind of futuristic symbol that Nihei likes to use and which it makes sense for them to have.

I imagine some will die in the other groups, but a lot of the females will miraculously survive. nihei will lose interest in the grander story and plot, more and more pages will be devoted to everything with a vagina wanting yuva's dick while Lilisen stands there with a pissed off face, eventually low numbers or nihei wanting to move on to something else will lead to a rush stupid ending that feels like it didn't answer anything. It was fun while it lasted but i can already smell sidonia all over this.
