Greetings from the past. I haven't been active on /a/ in a decade, and somehow managed to score a wife. She's on an anime kick after watching copious amounts of K-drama. Any recommendations? >>284738483Thanks, but I forgot to even mention Oishinbo (Inka stalled on their subs and the previous ones are lost since they were YouTube uploads that some treehuggers at Green Peace managed to get taken down for the shark fin soup episode), Cooking Papa (again, subtitles are Hell to find, Inka and the previous fan subbing group both stalled after episode 1), Zipang, Cats Eye, City Hunter, Dororo to Hyakkimaru, Sabu to Ichi Torimono Hikae, Wingman, Glass no Kamen and Warau Salesman (not sure if I would suggest this as a first one)...Tamura Shigeru is also a great director and he is featured in my 5x5... As are a couple that I would not recommend to your wife, but just for you (Mad Bull 34 and Wild 7). There was a girl who I was talking to who had Future Boy Conan as one of her favourites, but we decided to just be friends because of the civil war in her country among other things... I am glad toAlso Emeraldas and Queen Millennia would be the no brainer next steps, though Capatain Harlock knowledge is sort of needed for some episodes of the series. You might be able to get away with Arcadia of my Youth or the (good) CGI movie alone, though, since it is just basic character knowledge needed.The only two modern anime that I can confidently recommend are the Stand by me Doraemon films... Don't judge me for suggesting CGI Doraemon until you have seen them. I guess Pui Pui Molcar is also good, but season 1 is 30 minutes to watch. Just cutesy 3 minutes stop motion animations.
