>Did you know that the Guymelefs in Escaflowne were inspired by Dragons Dream?
Your thread died before before I could call you on this. First off, the image you posted comes from a movie called Dragon's Heaven, not Dragon's "Dream". Disregarding that, what is your cite for this claim? Guymelefs were designed by Yamane Kimitoshi, based on production drafts from Kawamori Shoji, who has a prolific career in mecha and science fiction animation. Yamane did work for Artmic after graduating, but he makes no mention of Dragon's Heaven and is not credited in any way on the production. Yamane also worked on Gundam SEED and would design the mechanics for Cowboy Bebop, in addition to bing tapped for other Gundam projects, some that never came about.

Here is an interview with Yamane, which talks a good deal about the designs for Escaflowne, Guymelefs and Kawamori's concepts. No mention is made of Dragon's Heaven.

If you have any actual written claim that Dragon's Heaven inspired Guymelefs, please post it.
