I'm curious to see how the author will develop this. The MC knows the day and place where this cult of losers will carry out the attack. So it's pretty much now or never situation. And I assume that, from a narrative point of view, the author will use this to eliminate the guy from the list of suspects. So no matter whether guy succeed or fail in his mission, then we'll be left with the last two suspects (if we exclude strong guy, who is now dating detective girl) for next arc with main heroine.
