He could have snapped his fingers, said "scabbard!", grabbed it from Iku, slammed it down, stepped on it and stabbed that instead of his foot, with much better results. Iku is supernaturally in tune with him, passing him the scabbard would have been done in less a second I'm sure. I guess the foot pussy was just too important for the plot.

Meanwhile, Seigen started with zero samurai spirit but slowly gained it (sorta) due to being dealt a SSS+ tier best girl. At the start Fujiki only fought his battles straight with a pure heart, and in the end he only used underhanded tactics with a heart full of hate. Seigen on the other hand... Well okay he didn't became mister nice guy but in the past he used to randomly kill cats and sea turtles to vent off his frustrations and he stopped killing small animals while in Iku's care, so I think there is some slight improvement.
The two massive cuts on Ushimata's face doing a 90 degree angle are very aesthetically pleasing.
