How come no other shonen monster battling anime perfected the formula as well as Pokémon did?
All the rest inevitably devolve into the secondary characters just cheering on the mc from the sidelines and explaining the rules and mechanics of the game after each turn

The pokemon anime is fucking terrible.

>perfected
>Pokemon
It's the worst of the bunch, resetting the MC's competence every region.

Yu-Gi-Oh > power gap > pokemon

Beyblade doesn't fit that description

The fuck? Pokemon was a comedy anime first and foremost, it wasn't a nekketsu show by any means, if anything it felt more like a parody to the 90s shows for little boys.

Pokemon had the video game/merchandise benefit, th actual anime is very mediocre to bad

Digimon and Yugiohs story shit on pokemon

Duel Masters dub was good for getting into full parody territory

Only time that happened was on Best Wishes.

Shut the fuck up, ESL and go back to cocksucking Ash's dick on /vp/.

Nobody cares about your damage control. Inconsistent garbage per gen with him, live with it.

Pokemon took the worst route to avoid that, for decades kept resetting and telling you all the progress amounted to nothing in the big leagues. then phased out the secondary characters anyway.

When it DID want to do big "high stakes" tournament to show Ash was on a higher level, the secondary characters did get reduced to cheerleaders (the leagues, aside from Alolah's, which just failed to feel like a big deal).

Have you never watched a single (formal) battle episode in pokemon?

Ash did better in the leagues each time though, cant see how you say it says his progress amounted to nothing in the big leagues. That's one of the things it did well.

Cope.
Ash had a consistent growth from OG to DP until a new executive showed up to dumb him down to shove his fanfic OC like Alain and Trip.

That's the most blatant case of it, yes.

The TrAshnime is literally the worst anime ever made. 26 YEARS of unwatchable drivel with a protagonist who makes that faggot from KanoKari look like god's gift to MCs by comparison. Liko's yuri harem anime is pretty decent though.

Motherfucker, it IS a '90s show for little boys.

But Digimon was better and has always been.
