my favourite anime. I'm not an otaku, I actually grew up despising anime, the industry, even tho I did watch anime in my teenager. K-on was one of my very first anime I ever watchedand it touched me like no anime has touched me before. I grew, stopped watching anime 10 years ago, but this one stood in my heart. the memories never left me. neverI love music, I care a lot about music, I learnt guitar and music theory with K-on. K-on pretty much accompanied me musically, it taught me things as a newbie guitarist back thenand that's just musically speaking. it accompanied me in my late highschool years. everything, the sense of finishing school, thinking about what to do next, the sadness of finishing that chapter of my lifeback then I didnt know aobut anime, I was bored, downloadng that other famous chuuni anime, while I said "ok the download ends in 20 mins, what can I do to kill time??" so I read, an anime about music (my interest). wikipedia showed a cutesy female, "eewm girly stuff" I thought, "but whatever, let's kill some minutes" so I watched a little online... before I realized, I fucking watched the whole first episode, AND KEPT WATCHING THE NEXT. I went and canceled the chuuni download, fuck that one, I had to go and downoad K-on insteadI fell in love with the visuals, the ambient, the animation. Still to this day I fucking admire how REAL it looks, how pretty much the background characters aren't that much different from the main characters (unlike 99% all cringe animes), plus the detail of the background, the dirt in the walls, in every corner, etc ALL REAL
Today I wanted to remember a little, played the first episode... was smiling like a fucking idiot the very first minute, the very first second the ost played, THE OST IS DEEP IN MY HEART. then the opening kicked ini fucking shred tearsI SHRED FUCKING TEARSimages of all the laughs, commotion, learning, tears, etc fucking everything I experienced with this anime appeared in my head. dammthen kept watching smiling like a fucking idiot, then the second ost appeared, more tears, this time thinking (fuck it tomorrow I'm playing these songs on my guitar)finished the episode, Dont say lazy ending, FUCK THE FEELSthen had to go and listen to what was my #1 favourite song: Ohayou Mata Ashitahttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G9n65zuZdPkfucking mistake, it only made the tears worse! then I listened to Houkago Tea Timehttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4wsYfbr9Hfgno fucking turn back now. A lot of moe anime of between the late 00s to about mid 10s were really good and, in a certain sense, underrated.It's a shame the whole genre has basically died out.
