1/2Just discovered these threads. So im gonna dump my comments I made on another site also does anyone know what chapter of the Manga this ends on?This was from ep 20Im finally caught up. I made this account just to say this.1.) I like this show. It makes me feel nostalgic. Not because I read the manga, But because it reminds me of the kinds of of anime I watched when I first got into anime around the mid 2010's.2.) It's not very good. It's WAY to generic. So generic it loops back to being unique again. But not in a good way; like it's some kind of "return to form" or a particularly well executed version of what came before like say, black clover. It's just... generic.This show is generic even by 2010's standards. In the 2010's and onward shonens have made a real effort to differentiate themselves from their 2000's and 90's predecessors. This show feels straight from 03 or something. And even then it would be generic because even back then the popular shows did more to differentiate themselves than this show.3.) The things I genuinely like about this show seem to be the exact opposite of you guys like. The action in this sucks and is boring to me. Mudano's fight in episode 17 was the only time the action felt somewhat well thought out to me. But the Animation does it a great disservice. Out of curiosity I looked up what Mudano's twin dragon technique looked like in the manga, and it looks SO much better. Seriously, go look at it.I actually like the non action stuff. It's the only parts of the show that feel well thought out, unique and interesting.For example, I'm really liking all of Shinya's plotting and scheming, it doesn't feel boring to me at all.Hopefully this writer learns his strengths and leans into them. And the Animation gets better.

Outside of the classroom focused segments which caused me physical pain to watch, the series was ok even if the story beats were predictable and familiar. The Momotaro were so unambiguously evil and inhumane that it was comedic. I really liked how the deaths of the antagonists were treated.

Meanwhile the only argument the Momotaros have in their favor is that onis have the risk of going berserk, yet the cases of an oni going crazy shown in the anime have all been the result of a Momotaro wronging them first, which makes them come as huge hypocrites and the entire conflict feel super forced. At least in Tokyo Ghoul, where this shit takes a lot of inspiration from, the ghouls were anthropofagous creatures and a lot of them were sadistic bastards, but so far all the onis here have been portrayed as benevolent and basically normal humans with super powers, so this whole thing of "both sides have good and bad things" is pure bullshit.
