A diverse set of experiences can be applied anywhere, not talent. Koro-sensei had ample experience as an assassin and took that experience into a new direction and founded a unique way of teaching that leaves no child behind.If Nagisa wanted to follow in Koro-sensei's steps, he should have taken the Tentacles into himself as well, augmenting his talents and supplementing his experience; iterating on Koro-sensei's existence as a being and as a teacher - the next chain in the link to the future that was built not solely on the foundation of assassination, but of assassination and teaching.
