After completing Reverend Insanity in 290h - it wasn't worth it. As much as Fang Yuan is a fun character full of hypocrisy, the fights get very magical very quickly, with the established use of Gu going to the trash. Whatever Gu you use you can achieve whatever result the plot needs, there is no consequences. The world is also quite flat. The plot has multiple points where it slogs and multiple chapters focused on literal who that add nothing to the plot.What I liked is how the series isn't afraid to fuck with Fang Yuan and make him lose fuckton of things, at least until he gets sovereign body. What I hate is that his "500 years of experience" explains his unexplainable control over people and how he can talk no jutsu everything he needs.IMHO it could have saved like 500 chapter with removing the needles characters and backtracking (and sometimes even reminder of the plot for a half chapter) and maybe it could have ended before the ban happened.That said, Legend of Renzhu book was a really fun idea and I wish we had more of it instead of using it as plot device the explain the sudden twist of plot.
