If you dorks unironically wanted to change crunchyroll, then you first need to own as many stock shares of sony as possible to make meaningful changes to their entertainment branch, which owns crunchyroll. And of course, if you're rich enough to be influential in sony corporation, you have more important things to do than deal with little fishes like crunchyroll.
>>284840403As someone who isn't a sperg from /v/, they were perfectly fine until they onboarded all the Funi staff to executive positions within the last couple years, caused a lot of the release quality to tank.Like, this guy is a retard >>284840656 because Eng BDs are irrelevant 99% of the time. The value of CR was its ability to sub the majority of seasonals day-of.
>>284840959The point is that anime should be less accessible to normalfags, and that they're better off providing a niche product like blurays without English dubbing. Obviously this would terrible for their business growth, but they could survive on a smaller scale.
Anime doesn't discriminate.Anime for normal, abnormal, and everything else.
>>284841119>The point is that anime should be less accessible to normalfagsIf you genuinely care about this, you probably spend all your time around normalfags and are, yourself, a normalfag. They only watch like one or two anime a year, who gives a shit.> and that they're better off providing a niche product like blurays without English dubbing. Those already exist by the way. More than half of the BDs in circulation do not have English dubs, that only happens with modern anime, and specifically the anime backed by Sony (CR/Funi) or AMC (Sentai), because selling purely foreign works with only foreign audio is a bitch and a half in western countries. You're ultimately someone who likely doesn't watch that much anime and views it more as some kind of gay little status symbol than as an artistic medium.
>>284841302I just want to be on the safe side. It's better that the foreign market for anime remain small. And it's not much of a status symbol when people think your hobby is creepy. Mitsudomoe for example isn't something you show to a coworker. And as far as blurays go, I just hate having to switch the audio when I put the disc in. I can't imagine many collectors who would actually pay to physically own a show want to hear the dub anyways.
>>284841119>>284841516The irony of these snobs is that, if they weren’t exposed to shitty anime dubs on cable TV, they never would’ve known about anime at all.
>>284841516>I just want to be on the safe side. It's better that the foreign market for anime remain small. No it isn't actually. Back when the foreign market was small, you want to know what that meant? Some of the worst subtitles I have ever seen, far worse than any official (subtitled) translation of any anime I have ever watched. Needing to spend hundreds of dollars importing your own DVD (if not a fucking LD (if not a fucking tape)) so you could use your amateur ass skills to rip something since people would often just never do anything beyond broadcast rips (if that). Having to wait weeks for most shows to get episodes past the first two or three subbed, if not an entire fucking year, if not STILL WAITING nearly 20 years later on some.People being interested in anime is a positive. Let them like Jujutsu Kaisen or fucking Naruto, I don't really give a shit, that doesn't effect me. I don't think about or watch those shows, but the shows I do watch get a positive effect from that interest, an objectively positive effect. I own a BD of Sasuke from 1968. It had never been translated by fans into English ever (outside crabsticks subs for one episode), and now I have all of it in English.I own a Victory Gundam BD that doesn't contain one of the worst translations I've ever sat through. I have Ie Naki Ko with amazing video quality and even better subs. The reason this is possible is because of anime's existing western popularity. Were this not the case, Sasuke would still be untranslated, V Gundam would have terrible subs, and Ie Naki Ko would be trapped in a shitty DVDrip or degrained BD state with iffy subs that have non-existent typesetting. I would never trade in anime's popularity for some vague idea of 'protecting it from normalfags', because I don't watch the shit normalfags watch.
