Did any of you watch this? Thoughts.
I want to like it but I just feel like it's lacking something, but the og anime also had a weak start so Ihave hope.

I complained about it before. I don't like the self aware trashing itself. Gintama was self deprecating to the author but not the series. I don't need reminders that I'm watching slop. Just let me enjoy my slop in peace. I also don't like that I can tell how rushed of an adaptation it is even though I never read the source material. You can just tell they skimmed a volume, got the basic story beats while cherry picking the jokes they liked. They probably cut out a bunch of dialogue of characters they didn't want to pay to voice because Ane, Mone and Hamko were there the entire time without a single thing to say. The first chapter is actually translated and you can compare it to the first episode and it's pretty much as I described.

Yeah it just feels like filler all the way through, like there's supposed to be some story there but it's just tacked on after the comedy routine.
